“We wanted to create an atmosphere that was elegant but still a little fun and you made this happen for us.” – Teresa
When a man refers to you as his dove, you know you have a keeper. For Nathan, the best part of his lovely wife, Teresa is “her loveliness and the effect that she has not only on me but on everyone she meets.” Teresa and Nathan knew that doves would feature in their wedding from the start, affectionately referred to as the lovebirds by family and friends. It wasn’t lost on me that their most memorable date was at Jordan’s Seafood Restaurant, however, I feel it was their instant connection and great communication that sealed the deal rather than the fish and chips! Teresa loves that Nathan keeps her grounded. “He is also kind-hearted and caring” advises Teresa. Beautiful.
The doves wedding cake…
Being able to create a wedding cake with a topper of sugar doves was a wonderful project. Details were not missed, with the doves following suit literally, with Nathan’s boutonniere and Teresa’s veil captured on the lovebirds.
To continue the couple’s story, I used a complimentary yellow floral card stock for the seating plan, menus and place cards. The menus featured a hand sketched old tree, complete with Teresa and Nathan’s initials carved into the centre with the branches separating each course. Place cards with hand sketched doves holding a string with each guest’s name tied everything together.
Teresa and Nathan were a beautiful couple to work with. Their love was obvious from the first moment I met them. Given Teresa and I have husbands that share the same name as well as being die-hard footy fans, I asked for advice on distracting boys from their sports watching. Apparently it’s quite simple. “By giving him a big kiss!”. Well, of course!
Almost one year on what’s next for the lovely couple? Nesting and preparing to start a family of little doves. May 2015 bring you as much joy as your first year of married bliss together.
